A lot of different things go into a good book. My personal preferences run toward a tight storyline with closure on all points, engaging characters, and entertaining scenarios. Charlesgate has all three, but the facet that sparkles most brightly is the characterization. Zylla, Jabe and Anne are all people I would love to meet.
