We have a release date! Kicking Sideways is already snuggled in cribs out there in the Faerie Market (ahem, online vendors), but the official release date is October 27, a magical day in my personal story as it’s my wedding anniversary. Come back on that date for giveaways and blog tours. Here’s the cover proof:

Revamped! Kicking Sideways has a new cover! A spin-off to Charlesgate, Kicking Sideways will be re-released just in time for trick-or-treats. Check out the new cover HERE.

photo(5)After this winter, I’m pretending we are in May, so while this lilac did not adorn the fence at The House of Seven Gables for my annual visit yesterday, I am pretending the buds have already bloomed.

This photo was taken on Mother’s Day in 2011 but although there were no flowers, the sun was warm yesterday, the boxwood intoxication, and Salem harbor jeweled. gables

I love this black house and it’s particular situation on the planet. A perfect location to start spring and thoughts of spring inspire thoughts of lust and a hero for a new novel.

Here’s my inspiration this year:

mhuismanI’m spending tomorrow’s lunch break on the steps of The Charlesgate, where I get my best scribbling done. Here’s the story behind my Charlesgate in hopes it will inspire you to do your own scribbling.

NEW POST (February 2015). I know, I know. It’s been a while. There’s a good reason for that. Really. Holidays, ice monsters, and editing a new book for your Labor Day reading pleasure. Here are some marvels for the winter season and the fun of hosting Miss Kate Sparkes’s cover reveal for her new release, Torn.

Yours from the Ice Cage,

NEW POST (November 2014). When it’s all been said better before, what’s a writer to do? A fan introduced me to this book and it set my creative world spinning for a bit. How to get the balance back.

Starting with one of the best opening lines I’ve ever read, Cake, A Fairy Tale by Dina Keratsis transports the reader to a fantastic world. From laugh out loud funny to the bitter sting of tears, this tale mixes old legends with new, while imaginative twists carry you on a wild ride of emotions, never letting you go. And, you’ll never look at buttered toast the same again. A keeper!”  –*Lizzie Starr, author of Romance with a sparkling twist
